I just read an article that claims the brain consumes some 30%-50% of its capacity on visual information. This got me thinking. Memories are made of still pictures. This is why the photograph is so important, it's a short cut from reality to memory. Now, resources are always scarce, including memory cells, so wouldn't the brain be more susceptible to pictures that are worth remembering?
Wouldn't a photograph be "better" if it encapsulated more memories in it, be these real memories or created memories?
A good photograph, for me, should stop me in my tracks, startle me in some subtle way - creating a new memory.
